A classic for Halloween is the pumpkin, or jack-o-lantern. Back in the day people used to carve a face into gourds and put a candle inside them to ward off evil spirits at the time of Samhain (later to be converted to the Christian festival - Halloween), when the veil between the worlds of the dead and the living was thin. When these people moved to America they found the pumpkins growing there, and decided that they would be perfect for the job.

Please note that because each pair is handmade there will be slight variations in them.
